It has been two and a half months since the outbreak of war in Ukraine. The situation is taking a serious tall on the mental health of children and adolescents. For this reason, Fondazione Child together with Telefono Azzurro, World Psychiatric Association and various actors from the institutional, academic, international organizations, private and third sectors as well as civil society have decided to hold a conference to address this complex and urgent issue.

The main focus of the conference will be the crisis in Ukraine, which has particularly aggravated the uncertainty and unsafety, jeopardizing the condition of children and adolescents. In this war context, the condition of the most vulnerable categories, such as children, can severely worsen, continuously exposing them to serious short and long-term consequences affecting their mental health and wellbeing.

For this reason, Fondazione Child and Telefono Azzurro believe that it is essential to initiate a dialogue that would focus on such urgent issues, raise awareness, and influence policy and decision making via an international perspective.

The event will focus on active and participatory discussion, allowing various actors to elaborate and share their experiences and best practices. Experts from the institutional, academic, private and third sectors will be involved in such an initiative. The ultimate aim will be not only to encourage an open debate on the subject, but also to propose joint solutions in collaboration with national and international actors, aimed to adopt all appropriate measures to tackle the rising matters.
